Serving Locust Grove Since 2013
Locust Grove has grown faster than almost anywhere in Henry County. Since 2000 the city has expanded its boundaries by more than 400 percent, from 2.2 square miles to over 10.8, most of it pulled in along I-75 at Exit 212 and Bill Gardner Parkway. Builders followed the road: Pulte's Harrington community went in at Bill Gardner Parkway and Lester Mill Road, and the county is widening the parkway to handle the traffic out toward Highway 155 and Hampton. New homes here come with the usual list: thin builder sod over compacted clay, and lots graded for the house pad while the rest of the yard sheds water the wrong way. We fix the grade and the drainage first, then put down sod that holds.
The Tanger Outlets at Exit 212 opened in 1994 and now run about 70 stores, and the commercial activity around the center keeps demand high for grounds maintained to a real standard. We take on commercial maintenance contracts and one-time installs along the I-75 corridor, and our GDOT certification qualifies us for government and public works projects in the county. The older core of town still follows State Route 42 and US-23 along the Norfolk Southern rail line, where lots tend to be larger and more established.
Southern Henry County still has plenty of rural character outside the subdivisions, with larger parcels that need land clearing, grading, and property-scale work before any landscaping goes in. We have the equipment for acreage. The drive from Covington is about 30 miles southwest, a routine run, and there is no trip charge for Henry County.
