Walton County

Serving Monroe and Walton County Since 2013

Monroe is Walton County's county seat and its largest city, and the property here splits into two clear groups. Downtown holds one of the largest collections of antebellum homes in Georgia, with Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, and Queen Anne houses lining the streets around the 1883 Walton County Courthouse and the historic commercial district along Broad and Spring streets. These older homes sit on mature lots with trees and beds that have grown in over generations, and they need careful pruning and maintenance, not a wholesale tear-out. The second group is the newer subdivisions on the city's edges, neighborhoods like Alcovy Lakes, Alcovy Bluffs, and The Oaks at Alcovy off Highway 138, built over the last two decades, where buyers are already dealing with builder-grade lawns that have thinned out.

Walton County's red clay does not forgive sloppy prep. Sod laid directly over hard, ungraded clay fails within a season, which is the most common call we get from the newer Monroe subdivisions. We strip, grade, and amend the ground the right way before a single piece of sod goes down. The rural stretches of the county outside Monroe proper bring a different kind of job: land clearing on parcels that have gone unattended, drainage on sloped lots along the Highway 11 corridor, and grading before new construction or landscaping can start.

Monroe clients who want annual lawn care contracts get the same scheduling and consistency they would in Covington. We are not a one-time crew that disappears. If you want a crew on a regular schedule, we set that up. Call (470) 226-7215 to discuss your property and get a free written estimate.

Questions

Monroe Landscaping FAQ

Do you serve rural properties in Walton County?

Yes. Walton County has a largely rural character outside of Monroe, and we work on rural lots and larger parcels throughout the county. Land clearing, grading, drainage, and large-scale sod installation are all services we provide on rural properties. If your lot is outside the city limits, that does not change anything about how we quote or handle the work.

Do you work on historic homes in downtown Monroe?

Yes. The downtown historic district has one of the largest collections of antebellum homes in Georgia, and those properties call for a different approach than a new build. The landscaping has matured over decades, so the work is usually careful pruning, bed refreshes, drainage corrections, and replanting that fits the look of the house rather than a modern overhaul. We respect the character of the property and the established trees. Call us and we will walk the lot before recommending anything.

What services are most requested in Monroe?

In Monroe, we most commonly get called for lawn care maintenance contracts on established properties, sod replacement on builder-grade lawns in newer subdivisions, and drainage or grading work on older lots where runoff has become a problem. Landscaping redesigns on established homes are also common, particularly in the historic downtown area where owners want to maintain the character of their property rather than do a modern overhaul. Call us to discuss what your property specifically needs.

Do you serve the Alcovy subdivisions off Highway 138?

Yes. We work the newer Monroe subdivisions off Highway 138 regularly, including Alcovy Lakes, Alcovy Bluffs, and The Oaks at Alcovy. These neighborhoods were built over the last two decades and most have builder-grade lawns that thin out once the cheap sod fails over hard clay. We strip, grade, and amend the ground before any new sod goes down, and we set up annual lawn care on a regular schedule. Coverage is from our Covington base with no travel surcharge.

Do you serve all of Monroe and Walton County?

Yes. We serve Monroe and the rest of Walton County from our Covington base, from the antebellum homes around the 1883 Walton County Courthouse and the Broad and Spring streets district to the newer Alcovy-area subdivisions and the rural stretches along the Highway 11 corridor outside town. Downtown lots usually need careful pruning and bed refreshes on mature landscaping, while the rural parcels lean toward land clearing, grading, and large-scale sod. Whether you are inside the city limits or out on acreage, the pricing and scheduling are the same.
